PRESCRIPTION LIMITS OF DANGEROUS DRUGS

The prescription limits is based on Section 32, DDB Regulation No. 3 S. 2003. 

PRESCRIPTION LIMITS - is the quantities that may be prescribed in a single applicable prescription by a licensed practitioner should not exceed the specified quantities as follows:



- Ephedrine (parenteral form) (hospital use)                                              1 vial

- For intractable pain as documented in practitioner's medical record        100 dosage units or 31 day supply

-A prescription may not be issued in order for an individual practitioner to obtain controlled substances for the purpose of general dispensing to patients.

- A prescription may not be issued to a drug dependent person for the purpose of continuing his dependence upon such drugs.

- A doctor with an S2 license may store or carry in his medical carry bag a reasonable quantity of dangerous drug preparations and/or ergometrine/ergotamine preparations IF no drugstore is dispensing such drugs within a 5-km radius from the doctor's area of residence/clinic/office. To secure prior approval from PDEA for such cases.
