Prescription Limits for Dangerous Drugs* 

  • Morphine oral          = 3,000mg
  • Morphine vial           = 448mg
  • Oxycodone              = 1,200mg
  • Fentanyl                   = 30 patches x 25 mcg/hr
                                       15 patches x 50mcg/hr
                                       3 amps x 2ml
For Intractable Pain:
Not more than 100 dosage units or 31 day supply, with “patient's medical information (PMIS)
by attending physician.

  • Benzodiazepines        = 30 tabs or caps
                                        90 tabs (5mg) (for muscle spasm/dystonia/tetanus)
                                        10 amps x 1ml
                                        3 amps x 2ml
                                        2 amps x 3ml
                                        2 amps x 5ml
                                        1 amp x 10ml
  • Phenobarbital            = 2 weeks supply
          2 bottles x 100 tabs (for epilepsy)
  • Demerol                    = 3 amps
  • Other DD vial            = 1 vial (hospital use)
  • Nalbuphine                = 40 mg or 4amps x 10mg/ml
