There
are few only in the world of professionals who are doing
multi-tasking jobs, one of it is pharmacist. Being a pharmacist there
are allot of things to do everyday. Their tasks are inclusive in
their function and promised obligation to fulfill each moment of
their work. Aside from multi-tasking, they are the ones who is liable
for any incident of wrong dispensing of drug done by the pharmacy,
and burden any violation that the drugstore may incur. Their name is
at risk all the time, and their professional reputation is prone to
suspension or revocation. Thus, this work is very difficult and needs
a big prudence and carefulness, so that everything will be managed.
The
following are tasks of a pharmacist
- Maintains the pharmacy establishment's registration;
- Paper works (recording of prescription and DD, keeping sales invoices and etc);
- Ordering, procuring and receiving deliveries;
- Monitoring of cold chain temperature, room temperature and biologicals;
- Dispensing and cashiering;
- Inventory system;
- Maintains drugs' condition and storage;
- Tasks to return, communicate, withdraw recalled drugs to the distributor or supplier;
- Communicates with salesmen and detailmen;
- Enjoins in pharmacovigilance and drug's post market monitoring;
- Serves at liaison for the drug establishment and government agencies (FDA, PDEA or BOC);
- Pricing of delivered drugs (optional);
- Maintains cleanliness of the establishment;
- Sustains the stocks, raw materials, and adequacy of drug products in the establishment; and, etc.
